Deferred Members

A Deferred Member is a former employee of the County of San Diego or an SDCERA participating employer (i.e., the Superior Court of California, County of San Diego; San Diego Local Agency Formation Commission; or San Dieguito River Park Joint Powers Authority) AND who left their retirement contributions with SDCERA.

Deferred Members who work for another California public agency may be able to establish reciprocity between SDCERA and that agency's retirement system.

Deferred Members are eligible to receive a retirement benefit from SDCERA when they meet certain eligibility requirements and file a Retirement Application.
